Three men injured in shooting on Western Avenue in South Bend

Three men were treated for injuries after a shooting on South Bend’s west side.

Two men were found injured around 4 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 11, in the area of Lincoln Way West and Adams.

A 24-year-old man suffered a wound to the chest. A 23-year-old man, had a wound to the arm. A third victim arrived at the hospital with a wound to his hand. The injuries were said to be non-life-threatening.

The shooting happened in the 4800 block of Western Avenue, according to South Bend Police.

As many as 200 people were in the area when shots were fired.

There were more than 70 evidence markers placed at the scene. Most of the markers were shell casings, according to 95.3 MNC’s reporting partners at ABC 57.

There was no immediate word on the circumstances that led to the shooting, or any suspects or arrests.
