New Carlisle industrial development making progress, but not everyone happy

A 22 thousand-acre industrial development for New Carlisle is still making progress, but not everyone is happy about it.

The new Indiana Enterprise Center would be located near the border of New Carlisle, and would cost around $3.5 million. That bill would be footed by grant money and taxpayers.

The center would create jobs and provide a home for several companies looking for a place to set up shop.

Tuesday night, protesters at the St. Joseph County Courthouse complained that the development would have a negative impact on the local aquifer and surrounding farm land.
