South Bend parking garages getting a facelift

(Photo supplied/City of South Bend)

Two parking garages in downtown South Bend are getting some upgrades. The garages at Wayne Street and Leighton Plaza were shut down on Monday for maintenance.

Crews will perform some structural concrete work and sealing, repaint, and restripe. Crews say the work will have a minimal impact on motorists as they will do the bulk of their work in the overnight hours.

Officials expect the project will be finished in early November.
