Sturgis man arrested for possessing sexually abusive material involving children

A Sturgis man has been arrested following an investigation into his online activity that turned up some sexually abusive material.

The investigation began after the Michigan State Police Computer Crimes Unit received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

The tip was concerning Alejandro Sanchez’s online activity via Instagram. Police report after investigating, additional content was uncovered that involved the upload of sexually abusive material involving children to a cloud account.

Sanchez, 18, was arrested and faces one count of Child Sexually Abusive Activity, two counts of Using a Computer to Commit a Crime and three counts of Possession of Child Sexually Abusive Material.
