95-year-old man dies days after car crash in Elkhart County

A 95-year-old man has died days after a crash took place in Elkhart County.

The crash happened on Sunday, Oct. 27, on SR 13 at CR 36. ABC 57 reports a Toyota Highlander failed to stop for a stop sign and collided with a Dodge Grand Caravan.

The Toyota then left the road, overturned and collided with a fence. Meantime, the Dodge Caravan collided with a utility pole and another fence.

The driver of the Toyota, Joseph Ryder, 96 of Topeka, sustained injuries in the crash, and was pronounced dead around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday at a local hospital.
