One of the global medical technology leaders, Medtronic, will be moving some jobs out of their Warsaw facility to other facilities within their operations network.
Company spokesperson Michelle Claypool said in an e-mail to News Now Warsaw that the company “consistently evaluates our operations to advance growth, improve operational efficiency, and strengthen our position for the future.”
The Warsaw plant will remain open and continue to manufacture other products according to Claypool’s e-mail. “We recognize the strong work, dedication, and quality of the Warsaw team and are providing employee assistance to help impacted employees through the transition.”
Claypool said they currently do not have a specific number of impacts currently as “the total impact to employees may change over the life cycle of the project, which will occur in phases over approximately the next two years.”

Perhaps you can follow up with this report to provide any additional information about this large medical device manufacturer’s visions of these transitions?
There’s really nothing but some jobs are moving elsewhere. Will the employees be offered transfer? Are they downsizing a segment of the operation or something else? Two year plans must be in place as indicated, but very little is provided by the report.
I’m asking if you please follow up with more details and information on this one for those who live and work with Metronic.
Hmm….Med Device guys trying to make good Mfg decisions. My money says the stuff moved to Latin America will flameout (boomerang) and the stuff moved to China will be a grand success (no matter what)
