A Bristol woman was cited for not having a child properly restrained after a crash on State Road 119.

The collision happened around 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 5, near the intersection of SR 119 and County Road 11 when the 27-year-old woman rear-ended a vehicle that was slowing down in front of her, according to the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office.

The woman who police say caused the crash wasn’t hurt, but the child riding in her car who wasn’t properly restrained was taken to Memorial Hospital in South Bend with injuries to her head and wrist.

Police say she will be okay. The driver of the car that was struck was not hurt.
