A new Monmouth poll in Iowa shows South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg pushing into the lead in the state.

The poll, released Tuesday afternoon, suggests the candidate has gained 14 points in the state since August, hitting 22%.

Joe Biden has dropped 7 percentage points in the same time period to land at 19%, one point ahead of Elizabeth Warren, who also dropped slightly.

Bernie Sanders is in fourth after climbing 5 points to 13%.

At this point, they are the only four candidates who have qualified for the December debate.

It was nearly 12 years ago this week that Senator Barack Obama saw a similar surge in Iowa.
