The South Bend School Board approved plans to get a 75 million dollar referendum on the ballot in the spring. If approved the money would be used for the corporation’s facilities and operations.
South Bend School’s Chief Financial Officer Kareemah Fowler tells ABC 57 News they need the money due to property tax caps that have already cost the corporation.The next step to get the referendum on the ballot is to get 500 signatures within the next two weeks.
If voters approve, property taxes will increase by 39 cents for every $100 of assessed value.

if my math is correct…my property tax would go up $900 per year. This is insane. adjust the school system for the money already allocated. Don’t just gibe them more money to squander on nonsense!!!
