Indiana teacher rally not changing GOP school funding stance

Thousands of Indiana teachers wearing red hold rally at the Statehouse in Indianapolis, Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2019, calling for further increasing teacher pay in the biggest such protest in the state amid a wave of educator activism across the country. INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Republicans who control the Indiana Statehouse aren’t showing any signs that a rally by several thousand teachers last month has swayed them to boost education funding anytime soon.

Teacher unions and Democrats are calling for the Republican-dominated Legislature to direct some of an unexpected $400 million growth in the state’s cash reserves to schools.

But Republican legislative leaders were steadfast Wednesday in opposing that push, arguing it would commit the state to a higher level of school funding for future years when they aren’t sure enough tax revenue will be available.

Well yeah the legislators and Eric Holcomb knows they screwed up when they didn’t legalize medical marijuana especially after Illinois passed the legalization of marijuana because Indiana now is surrounded by legalized marijuana between Illinois and Michigan and those 74% of Hoosiers with medical issues will cross the borders and and relieve their pain and take in some of Illinois activity hell I will myself and believe me I won’t be alone and when you add in the Hoosiers that want to smoke for recreational that’s a lot of Indiana revenue going across the borders hell Michigan reported last week that their phones were ringing off the hook with Indiana Hoosiers calling asking where they would be selling recreational on Dec 1st and they were getting ready because they said they knew they were going to be flooded with Indiana Hoosiers crossing the borders and they were right Michigan News media were at those sites talking to people and I bet every other person was from Indiana so Michigan had already gotten a nice chunk of Indiana revenue now when Illinois becomes legalized January 1st Its gonna be even easier for Indiana Hoosiers because Illinois surrounds Indiana so then you have Illinois,Michigan and Ohio And that’s our legislators knows that they isn’t going be enough money to give teachers a raise or put any money into our school programs hell they’ll be lucky to have enough to fix roads they know they made a stupid move and they seen by signing and passing sports betting it didn’t do anything for Indiana Hoosiers because Hoosiers can go to Illinois or Michigan smoke a little weed be pain free and enjoy the activities in Illinois or Michigan hell when you’re out of pain you feel more like taking in some shows or do a little gambling and so where can you go and smoke a little weed and gamble dah….. Illinois, Michigan and you can always go to Ohio too. Hell I’m only 15 minutes from either State and with my Ms I was looking forward for Michigan and Illinois to become ready and welcome Indiana Hoosiers.
