Search warrants in South Bend result in two arrests

Troopers with the Indiana State Police Bremen Post began an investigation into two South Bend addresses after receiving tips about possible drug dealing.

Just before 8 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 20, troopers executed warrants simultaneously in the 200 block of N. Edison and the 3700 block of Belle Vista. Inside the homes, troopers found suspected crack cocaine, a rifle, drug paraphernalia, several thousand dollars in U.S. Currency and electronic devices, according to the Indiana State Police.

Christopher Johnson, 40 of South Bend, was arrested and taken to the St. Joseph County Jail for dealing cocaine, possession of cocaine, maintaining a common nuisance, neglect of a dependent, and possession of paraphernalia.

Robert Towles, Jr., 55 of South Bend, was arrested and taken to the St. Joseph County Jail for dealing cocaine, possession of cocaine, maintaining a common nuisance as well as an active warrant out of Elkhart County and an active warrant out of St. Joseph County.
