Watervliet man arrested on weapons charges during drug bust

A Watervliet man has been arrested on weapons-related charges stemming from a drug bust.

On Wednesday, Jan. 8, SWET-West detectives along with members of Michigan State Police Fifth District Hometown Security Team, Berrien County Sheriff’s Department and Watervliet Township Police Department executed a narcotics search warrant in 3900 block of Jaquelyn Lane in Watervliet.

Information of drug activity led detectives to the residence and upon executing the search warrant, drug paraphernalia, ammunition and a loaded firearm were located.

Chadwic Danyal Menkhaus was arrested on preliminary charges of possession of a firearm by a felon and possession of ammunition by a felon as a result of the investigation.

He was lodged at the Berrien County Jail.

Additional charges will be sought by SWET detectives as the investigation is still under review by Berrien County Prosecutor’s Office.

It would help us to know what type or types of drugs were found? What type of loaded weapon was taken? What types of paraphernalia?
I’m a little fan of your brief news flash reports, and I get one or two a day. I just want a little more info on things.
Will you at least consider this?
