The Niles Schools have installed more than 200 cameras to increase their security.

The schools are benefiting from a nearly 450 thousand dollar grant that will bring the total number of cameras to 240 throughout their buildings and buses.

School officials told WSBT that it was “a major step in making parents and students feel safe throughout their school day.”

The grant was sponsored by the Michigan State Police and the cameras can be securely accessed by authorized personnel remotely for instant security.
