Three people were injured in a crash that happened in Cass County Thursday afternoon.

Police were called to the crash on U.S. 12, near Gumwood Road, in Milton Township just after noon where they found a vehicle flipped on its side.

An investigation reveals a 17-year-old driver was traveling along U.S. 12, when for an unknown reason, drove off the roadway and struck a tree. This caused the vehicle to flip onto its side.

The driver and one passenger were transported by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment. No word on the severity of their injuries.

Another 17-year-old passenger was treated and released at the scene.

At this time, alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash. Police are still investigating.
