There was great news Wednesday afternoon for the friends, family and fans of South Bend native Ryan Newman.

In a Tweet earlier this afternoon, Roush Fenway Racing announced that the NASCAR driver has been “treated and released” from the Halifax Medical Center.

Newman was involved in a fiery crash in the final moments of the Daytona 500.
