Goshen Hospital files statement in possible class action suit

(Photo supplied/Goshen Health)

Goshen Hospital has officially responded to a lawsuit accusing them of negligence. Last year the hospital informed more than 1,000 patients that, due to an error while sterilizing, they may have been exposed to hepatitis or HIV.

It didn’t take long for the lawsuits to pile in–and one of those is pushing for class-action status. However the hospital’s legal filling takes issues with some claims made in the lawsuit. For example that there may be individuals that were exposed but never told by the hospital. They also take issue with the notion that individuals will be subjected for medical testing for years and months to come.

More court hearings on the matter have been set for this month and next.
