The annual Elkhart Jazz Festival is taking the year off, due to the coronavirus.

Festival co-chair Kurt Janowsky told The Elkhart Truth on Wednesday that the festival would not take place. The City of Elkhart has decided not to allow events on its property through the month of June. The Jazz Festival was scheduled for June 19-21.

Organizers decided against trying to move the dates to later in the year because it would be difficult to book artists who already have much of the second half of the year scheduled.

A smaller event might take place at the Lerner, and the festival is slated to return in 2021.
