Indianapolis Customs and Border Protection agents announced Friday that they had stopped the distribution of more than 4600 unauthorized COVID-19 test kits.

The devices were grabbed in two different seizures in the last 45 days. The test kits in question were not approved for use in the US and were turned over to the FDA.

There has been an increase in reports of unapproved or counterfeit tests being shipped through the mail.
