INDIANAPOLIS — The VFW of Indiana wants you to be aware of scam going around using its name.

Two Hoosiers, one from South Bend and another from Gary, both said someone either called them or came to their door, claiming to be with the VFW and asked for money.

State Adjutant and VFW member Deborah Ryan says she’s never heard of the organization ever doing this and worries that more people are being scammed and having their money taken.

Ryan urges anyone who’s asked to send money by someone claiming to be with the VFW to send a report to the VFW state headquarters in Indianapolis.
