St. Joseph along with every public school in Michigan will be making some tough choices this year. The COVID-19 economic impact will mean significantly less money coming from the state.

Per student the district is looking at cuts of about $700 and they will also have to reallocate funds from transportation, attrition, and line item reductions. Total they say the cuts will about to about $4.2 million.

ABC 57 says the school also still has to pay $2.1 million to the state for revenue loss. The hope is to impact the classroom as little as possible.
