Man arrested for OWI following fatal motorcycle crash Thursday

One person has died, and another was arrested, after a motorcycle crash in Mishawaka Thursday night.

St. Joseph County Police were called to the intersection of Main Street and Jefferson Boulevard just before 10 p.m. on reports of a motorcycle vs. car crash.

An investigation revealed a Jeep, traveling northbound on Main, was attempting to turn left onto westbound Jefferson when it turned into the path of a southbound motorcycle.

The driver of the motorcycle, identified as Steven Miller, 52 of Granger, was severely injured and rushed to a local hospital where he later died.

The driver of the Jeep, Eric Wruble, 33 of South Bend, was uninjured. He has been charged with Causing Death When Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated, a Level 4 Felony.

Probable cause was found. Bond was set at $100,000 corporate surety or $10,000 cash. His initial hearing is scheduled for Monday, June 22nd at 1:00 p.m.
