Human remains found in abandoned home in South Bend

Human remains were found in an abandoned South Bend home Thursday.

The remains were found around 12 p.m. on Thursday, July 16, in the upstairs bedroom of a house at 613 E. Broadway Street.

St. Joseph County Coroner Michael McGann says the remains could have been inside the house for as long as three years. The remains were so decomposed the gender could not be determined.

South Bend Police do not suspect any foul play, but an autopsy is scheduled for Friday.
