The University of Notre Dame says a second member of their athletics program has tested positive for COVID-19.
Four other players from the football program were exposed and are in self-quarantine.
In the announcement Monday the school says 103 student-athletes were tested on July 15, and all tested negative. Testing done prior to that date showed one student-athlete, who was mildly symptomatic, tested positive and is recovering well.
A total of 359 COVID-19 tests have been performed on members of the football team and athletics department, with only two tests coming back positive. The school says any further COVID testing results will continue to be reported as it becomes available.
