Whitmer says she won’t rush into reopening Michigan businesses

Michigan’s governor says she won’t “be bullied” into making the decision to reopen businesses like gyms and theaters.

Governor Whitmer said Tuesday that she’s going to follow the science when making those choices, and that she’s working with Chief Medical Executive Dr. Joneigh Khaldun to look closely at those businesses that have been closed for the duration.

If the protocols are there and seven-day averages and positive cases per million say it’s safe to start moving forward, she’ll be better prepared to make those decisions.
