Michigan’s Secretary of State says she’s receiving complaints about a Robocall that discourages people in Detroit from voting by mail.
Jocelyn Benson says the calls use racially-charged stereotypes and false information in “an indefensible, blatant attempt to lie to citizens about their right to vote.
It claims that if you vote by mail your personal information will become part of a public database that the police will use to track down cold warrants, and credit card companies will use to collect outstanding debts.
My office has received a recording of a robocall targeting Detroit voters using racially-charged stereotypes and false information to deter voting by mail. It is an unconscionable, indefensible, blatant attempt to lie to citizens about their right to vote. https://t.co/lgNEh8mtvf

The message ends with “Don’t give your information to The Man.”
Both Benson and Attorney General Dana Nessel are investigating the calls.

Heard them say it was lies but no facts or information to the contrary. The information would surely be used against people any chance they could.
