South Bend Medical Foundation in need of blood donations

(Tom Franklin/95.3 MNC)

The South Bend Medical Foundation Blood Bank is in need of donations heading into Labor Day weekend.

The need for blood always increases over holiday weekends, but blood supply is unusually low due to continuous closings and restrictions from COVID-19.

Several blood drives are scheduled leading up to Labor Day weekend. The Bloodmobile will visit area businesses, such as:

  • St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Mishawaka and Plymouth
  • Ridge NAPA Auto Parts on South Main Street in South Bend
  • Memorial Hospital in South Bend
  • Martin’s Super Market in Elkhart
  • Elkhart General Hospital

Donors can also visit the South Bend or Mishawaka donation centers at any time. For a full list of donation sites, visit GiveBloodNow.com.
