Michigan City shooting suspect arrested in Indianapolis

A man who shot and killed another man at a Michigan City apartment complex has been arrested in Indianapolis.

Darius Mitchell, 27, was killed back in August near Garden Estates West apartment complex.

Michigan City police were called to the complex around 8:45 p.m. on Aug. 11 on reports of shots fired.

When police got there, they found a crowd of people standing around Mitchell, who was lying on the ground motionless with a bullet wound in his body. Police tried to save his life, but he died at the scene.

Last week, Demario Williams-Anderson, 19, a suspect in the case, was arrested near IUPUI in Indianapolis.

Williams-Anderson was found after police received a tip that he had run away to Indianapolis after shooting Mitchell.

Williams-Anderson is now in the LaPorte County Jail.
