The Berrien County Health Department released some recommendations for schools after some cases of COVID-19 have hit some districts.
In a letter to the community, health leaders offer several recommendations, including required daily screening for staff and recommended screening for students. Limiting access to volunteers and contractors and suspending field trips and other activities.
They’re also reminding school leaders to make sure face masks are being worn and social distancing is being practiced. Ensuring more cleaning and disinfecting of work spaces and common areas and limiting crowd sizes at events.
The health department is also meeting with superintendents to create a plan in case the situation becomes worse.
