Seeing more than 11,000 Notre Dame football fans rush the field after the Fighting Irish’s win against #1 Clemson did not go unnoticed by The Deputy Health Officer of St. Joseph County who, just days before, said he was more concerned about Notre Dame fans who gather at off-campus tailgate parties, bars and restaurants and fail to follow face covering and social distance guidelines.
Dr. Fox tweeted his concern after seeing images of the fans rushing the field.
Thank God they’re in masks?! Pandemonium! @NDFootball @NotreDame pic.twitter.com/LoQFZZ1Zfg

Approve of the win, but this is concerning. At least there are masks and all undergrads were tested this week!

The concern about the possible COVID spread was also shared or mocked by many others on Twitter and other social media platforms.
Notre Dame President the Reverend John Jenkins strongly encouraged students to redouble their efforts to mask up and maintain social distance as cases of COVID-19 have spiked, again, on campus with just two weeks until the end of the fall semester.
As far as the game, itself, it t took four quarters and two overtimes for the #4 Notre Dame to upset the Clemson Tigers.
It’s yet another regular-season winning streak destroyed by the Irish, who dealt Clemson their first loss in the regular season since 2017.
rish quarterback Ian Book was never sacked as he threw for 310 yards and a touchdown.
Notre Dame remains undefeated on the season and is firmly in first place in the ACC conference standings.

Get a life Karen.
Seriously!!! This is just more fear mongering. I was their doing my job. These students are at a higher risk of STD SPREADING. Than they are getting spreading and dying of Covid. If any of the a risk over 60 that I seen on the field as well. Get it and or were so concerned of getting it. Then I guess you should have made a better choice. Or set the example for the rest of us, and just stayed home. #goIRISH #beatCovid #welcometothenewnorm
Just call it a protest and they will all be safe from COVID. If it’s been working that way in big blue cities for months, why change it now?
