Benton Harbor’s Sinbad recovering from stroke

Comedian Sinbad is recovering from a stroke, according to his family.

The Benton Harbor native’s health crisis was announced Monday and he is said to be “beginning the road to recovery.”

Sinbad, who is 64, was born David Adkins in Benton Harbor and graduated from Benton Harbor High School in 1974.

The comedian and actor is best known for his work on the sitcoms “A Different World” and “The Sinbad Show,” as well as stand-up specials and several movies.
