An Indiana teenager who competed on TV’s Master Chef Junior show has lost his battle with cancer.

Ben Watkins, who appeared on Season 6 of the show hosted by Gordon Ramsay, lost his parents in a murder-suicide after appearing on the show. He was a cook at Ben’s Bodacious BBQ in Gary’s Miller neighborhood.

His family says Watkins died Monday while undergoing chemotherapy for a rare, aggressive cancer that affected his spine, shoulder and lung.
