A man is hurt after being crushed by a fallen tree Sunday.

Cass County police were called to the 18,000 block of Brownsville Road just after 6 p.m., where they found a 40-year-old man suffering from injuries.

Police report he had been trying to remove trees from his property when one of them fell on top of him. His 14-year-old son was able to remove the tree before calling for help.

Fire and EMS crews had to extricate him from the woods, and he was transported by Medflight to South Bend Memorial Hospital.

So far, no word on the extend of his injuries.
