Winter activities begin at St. Joseph County parks

Parks throughout St. Joseph County will start offering winter activities this month.

St. Patrick’s County Park will open inner-tubing to the public on December 26, snow conditions permitting. Hours will be from Noon to 5 p.m. on weekends, and holidays, through March 7.

The warming room will not be open this season due to COVID-19 restrictions, and ticket sales will be limited. Tickets are $4 per person in addition to the vehicle entrance fee.

 

St. Patrick’s County Park is also offering snowshoe and cross-country rentals beginning December 26. Rentals will be available every Wednesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Snowshoe rentals are $3 per person plus a vehicle entrance fee.

Cross-country ski rentals are $5 per adult trail fee and $4 per youth trail fee, in addition to a vehicle entrance fee.

Both snowshoe and ski equipment must be returned by 5 p.m.

 

Ferrettie-Baugo Creek County Park will offer one-hour daytime reservations for small groups beginning December 26 through March 7.

For $75, groups of up to 20 people can reserve the hill on any Friday, Saturday or Sunday, snow conditions permitting. The warming room will not be included in the reservations.

Ferrettie-Baugo will not be offering public inner-tubing for the 2020-2021 season.
