Sentencing delayed for Sam Anello in Puerto Rico

The sentencing has been delayed for Sam Anello, the grandfather of a Granger toddler who fell to her death from a cruise ship in Puerto Rico.

The sentencing hearing had been scheduled for Thursday, and has been moved to February 8 of 2021 in San Juan.

In what he called an effort to “end this nightmare for his family,” Anello pleaded guilty in October to negligent homicide in connection with the death of his 18-month-old granddaughter Chloe Wiegand. She fell to her death from the Royal Caribbean’s Freedom of the Seas ship in July of 2019.
