Elkhart water, sewage rates increasing come February

Elkhart residents will soon see an increase in both water and sewage rates.

The City Council passed the ordinance to raise rates Monday night.

Beginning February 2021, rates will go up $5 a month for the next two years, with the additional funds set to go toward fixing the city’s combined sewer system and water quality.

WSBT reports the bills will still be among the lowest in the state.
