More than six years after the Flint Water Crisis first made headlines, prosecutors have named some of the people being charged as the result of a new investigation.
And one of those names is former Michigan Governor Rick Snyder.
On Tuesday the Attorney General’s office announced indictments and said initial court appearances could be happening soon. Former Governor Snyder’s health director and other former officials were also named.
The exact nature of the charges have yet to be revealed. Starting in 2014, the City of Flint struggled with a public health crisis centered on its lead-tainted water and was blamed for an outbreak of Legionnaires’ Disease. Snyder left office in 2019.
