We’ve learned more about the charges against former Michigan Governor Rick Snyder and other public officials in regard to the Flint water crisis investigation.
Thursday the outcome of the criminal investigation was unveiled. Snyder and eight others face charges, including Snyder’s two counts of willful neglect of duty for “failing to protect the health and safety” of the people of Flint.
If he’s convicted Snyder could serve up to a year in jail and a $1000 fine. Snyder’s attorney says the charges are “a waste of taxpayer money” that do nothing to bring justice to the people of Flint.
The other officials face charges ranging from willful neglect, to perjury, to involuntary manslaughter.
