Whitmer attending Wednesday’s inauguration ceremony

Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer will be in Washington Wednesday for the inauguration.

Whitmer’s office says she will be in D.C. for the swearing-in ceremony of President Elect Biden and Vice President Elect Harris. This isn’t a surprise, given that Whitmer is a co-chairwoman of the inauguration festivities.

Biden also recently appointed the governor as one of the four Vice Chairs of the Democratic National Committee. Whitmer says she is looking forward to working on the COVID-19 problem with the incoming administration.
