Man shot, injured at Family Express on Edison Road in Mishawaka

An investigation is underway after police received reports of shots fired at a Mishawaka gas station.

It happened around 10 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 19, at the Family Express gas station on West Edison Road.

Mishawaka Police arrived to find one person lying on the ground with a gunshot wound to the leg.

The victim told police a man tried to rob him, and during the struggle, he was shot by the suspect.

The victim was taken to the hospital where their condition was stabilized.

Police describe the suspect as black, in his early 20’s with braids. The suspect’s vehicle is described as a Bluish/Gray-colored sedan.
