Elkhart Jazz Festival still a question mark for 2021

The organizers of the Elkhart Jazz Festival are hopeful that this year will let them move past “the rest” and get back to “the notes.”

When the popular event was cancelled due to the pandemic last year, many assumed that it would be back in 2021. But with the pandemic still hanging on, it’s unclear if the event will be back this summer.

Co-chairman Kurt Jankowsky told The Elkhart Truth “it will be back.” Now it’s just a question of how big it might be able to be, based on what an acceptable safety plan will allow. The organizers are doing everything they can to put on at least a smaller event with acceptable seating limits this year.

What happens with other events could help define and influence the state and county decisions for the Jazz Festival and similar events this year.
