Update: UP Mall evacuated for a possible bomb threat

The Mishawaka Police Department has evacuated the University Park Mall on Grape Rd. due to a possible bomb threat.

The threat concerns the Barnes & Noble bookstore, and possibly the Food Court. The threat was identified on social media from an unannounced source. No further information has been released at this time. The initial call came in to the police at 5:24 p.m.

No arrests were made and no injuries were reported.

Police searched the mall for 90 minutes and found no suspicious packages or devices. The mall remained closed for the rest of the day Tuesday.
