Short term rental industry on the rebound

(95.3 MNC)

The short term rental industry is making a comeback for some local owners.

The owners of Stone Lake Vacation Rental Projects in Cassopolis tell Leader Publications last year’s pandemic led to the loss of two-thirds of their summer reservations and most of their fall reservations.

In order to stay in business, the owners were forced to go against Governor Whitmer’s orders and began accepting reservations prior to the Michigan Supreme Court ruling the Governor lacked the power to issue executive orders without consent from the Legislature.

Now, the business has gone from “refund” to “rebound” stating they’re receiving more weekend reservations than any other year.
