A man was killed in an officer-involved shooting in Porter County.

Sheriff’s deputies were called around 6 p.m. on Saturday, May 1, to a home in the 700 block of on Long Run Road in South Haven on the report of a disturbance at that residence.

After several hours passed, attempts were made to contact the man in the home, who was identified as Anthony T. Tuzinski, 30, of Valparaiso.  After those attempts were unsuccessful, officers entered the home and found Tuzinski in the bedroom.

He armed with a handgun, according to an Indiana State Police report.  During this encounter, Tuzinski was shot and has since died.

The Indiana State Police are leading the investigation.
