One person was taken to the hospital Thursday evening after a road rage shooting on I-80/94.

Indiana State Police Dispatch got a 911 call just before 7 p.m. about shots fired from a vehicle traveling eastbound near Cline Avenue.

Troopers arrived and found a white Jeep Cherokee parked on the left shoulder with a man and woman inside. The vehicle had been shot several times on the passenger side.

Investigators say a black Ford passenger car, driven by a black male, was headed eastbound along with the white Jeep Cherokee.

The driver of the Jeep said the black Ford car was following at a close distance and was attempting to pass. The driver of the Jeep sped up to get away from the Ford when the driver of the Ford pulled alongside the Jeep, rolled down the driver’s side window, and fired several shots at the Jeep.

The female passenger was taken to the hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.
