Girl, 15, shot and killed at home in Edwardsburg

A 15-year-old girl was shot and killed at a home in Edwardsburg. The shooting happened just before 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 16 at a home in the 25000 block of Maple Street.

A 12-year-old boy was involved in the shooting, which was described as accidental.

A witness told 95.3 MNC’s reporting partners at ABC 57 that the gun was removed from a safe and was believed to not been loaded.

The boy allegeldy pointed the gun at the 15-year-old girl and pulled the trigger, according to police, as reported by ABC 57.

The girl died at the scene.

The investigation is still underway and will be forwarded to the Cass County Prosecutor’s Office.
