Indiana has a lot of room for improvement as a place for Seniors according to a recently released study.

Indiana ranked third worst for older Americans in a study recently released by the website SeniorLiving.org. Fifteen factors including cost and access to housing and health care, tax burdens, income potential and weather were studied.

Michigan was in the mid-range, coming in at 21st overall.

Florida, Oklahoma and Mississippi were the top three states while Indiana, Connecticut and Montana were the three worst.

Retired here 5 yrs ago from St. Louis, MO. Currently living in Madison County. Taxes are lower here. Doctors seemingly are fewer, but an abundace of nurse practitionors. A bit worried about that as we are seniors with health issues. This community offers many friendly people and little crime.

No way, taxes are lower here; we are below the belt of really bad winters and above the belt of fire ants and killer bees. Whoever created this study was biased against conservative states. You want high taxes? Move to NY or WI…bad winters too. Don’t like winters? Move to CA and take your liberal voting preferences with you (not aimed at you Karen a general observation).

IN is in a sweet spot of weather and politics…if you don’t like it and want more government please more.
