Benton Harbor declares a water boil order

The City of Benton Harbor is under a boil water advisory until further notice. The City told WSJM that it’s due to a chemical feed interruption in the water treatment process that could result in bacterial contamination.

Benton Harbor residents are advised to filter and boil their water before consumption to remove the risk for potential contaminants, including lead and bacteria.

The water is safe for showering, laundry and dishes.
