Kosciusko County Sheriff investigating recent suspicious barn fires

(Jon Zimney/95.3 MNC)

The Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a pair of recent barn fires in northwest Kosciusko County as potential arsons.

The Sheriff’s department is working the investigation in conjunction with the State Fire Marshal, along with Elkhart County and St. Joseph County, who have been looking into other suspicious barn fires this year. Police say the fires have been happening either in the evening or the early morning hours.

Patrol units and investigators will be out in some of these areas and are actively looking for a suspect.

Some police vehicles will be unmarked; as such, do not hesitate to report unfamiliar
vehicles in your area.

Anyone with any information on the fires, or if you see any suspicious activity are asked to relay it to the Sheriff’s Office at (574) 267-5667.
