New Indiana Youth Employment System goes into effect on July 1

If your business is hiring teenagers for your business this summer, you have until July 1st to register with Indiana’s new Youth Employment System, or YES.

As of July 1st schools will no longer issue work permits for employees under the age of 18. Instead, employers with five or more minor employees are responsible for tracking and reporting the information for those employees.

This change in Indiana law will make such data collection more efficient and streamlined.

For more information about YES and the new requirement, visit http://dol.in.gov/youthemployment.htm
