In a lawsuit against the South Bend Community School Corporation, ex-Riley High School basketball coach Mark Johnson, claims he was harassed and discriminated against.

Johnson also stated in the lawsuit that he faced retaliation when he reported the alleged discrimination.

In the suit, a series of exchanges between Johnson and school board vice president Leslie Wesley, show they clashed about her sons status on the team, and even playing time for the 2016 season.

Johnson’s suit also claims that a former Riley principal, Francois Bayingana, directed him to keep specific players on the team, according to the South Bend Tribune.

A District Court Judge dismissed the case, stating Johnson did not present enough evidence to support he was discriminated against or harassed on the basis of race.
